plaintalker:
Communication has always been an issue with this district for as long as I can remember. Telling us one thing and doing another is tradition here.
I agree, all promises need to be in writing. Unless in writing the story and promises conveniently change.
I am really on the fence about this proposition. It would be nice to have the field and we certainly need one it our teams....if we have right of first refusal.
However, are we really examining the potential long term effect with getting a smaller school and smaller property? Either way both buildings need construction and modifications. In the long term, with a growing population, which is the lesser of two evils?

Patriot, I have been away for a while and I just read your exchange with the BOE, or should I say the President of the BOE. I see your frustration with them. First, what do the other BOE members think? Second why not just answer the question instead of giving general, non-informative, useless answers! I am especially disappointed in fFrank. last year during the "e-mail" scandal, he came here to state his case. He spoke to many of us at BOE meeting, in the street, at stores about that issue. Now you don't get a PEP out of him. Maybe he wasn't a victim? ? Anyway, there definitely is more lack of communication and information flow since Pat was voted in as president. She definitely seems to have her own agenda.

I would suggest to mention it at the next BOE meeting but I will guess that this last June meeting will be "so-long love fest" for Dr. Spin. Therefore, it will just fall on deaf ears. But then again, why would this meeting be any different.

They have already had the last June Board meeting with the Dr. The next one will be the swearing in of the new board.

Is the swearing-in the one that's next week (the 28th?)
Why wouldn't Richman be there? He's still employed by us.

I agree, let the good doctor go - If you look at the Roslyn site, he's been working there for a while anyways. I was at graduation last night- always a good idea to be at Hofstra. Like the fact you could have your entire family there. No worry about tickets or weather. I want to be optimistic but I don't know if the new super will be any better with communication skills. we have to wait and see I guess. In the meantime, now that we passed the budget, anyone have any idea how to fix this problem - our tax bill will be very high and next year will not be any better. I hope change does take place - but that is an old song - as soon as budget time is over- the memories fade about the need to fix the way we are taxed in this district. I cannot imagine living here someday when i get to retire- if i don't move first.
