Bond Anticipation Note - BAN
What does it Mean? A short-term interest-bearing security issued in the anticipation of larger future bond issues. Investopedia Says... Bond anticipation notes are smaller short-term bonds issued by governments and corporations. Knowing that the proceeds of the larger future issue will cover the anticipation notes, the issuing bodies use the notes as short-term financing.
Maybe the BOE member that is learning the "art" of Accounting, can elaborate?
All the yes votes have put us in the position to start the projects,... but do we have a commitment in writing that we will get the funds or are we still just listening to the wind with hope?
I hope all of you keep reading and rereading the earlier posts in this Forum.
Deja Vu, is used to explain events that have "already been seen". We have seen these same events take place over and over and over for the past 10+years. Maybe we should change the name of our district to "Groundhog Day" (Bill Murray movie) or "50 First Dates" (another movie). ;D
We should all be in the mindset to vote YES for the Kids, but how about freezes for the Administration (or REDUCTIONS), and finding out how we can recoup what we have to spend for Dr. Spin for his "package"? With all the money we have spent with him in courts in the past,(Attorney fees, Secretaries, etc,...) why don't we use the attorney's retainer fees to work for us and see how we can reneg on Dr. Spin's package?

IM (ever so humble)O Stop the nonsense already….go ahead, live in the past…feed off that negativity if you must, but you will be left behind….those past posts you refer to are just that, referring to a old BOE Your rants are not close to equating to the current situation. You can be as negative as you want…but you haven’t been there and you haven’t seen what we have seen and you haven’t heard what we heard and if you get your jollies off bashing, get yourself off…. I hear your post as this: you’ve been bitchin for ten years, not getting any positive outcome and a new group of folk come in and see results you could only dream about….. Don’t pee on our parade techie….. GoPlainedge said it correctly… The times they are a changing. Get on the train with us or leave your sorry, down trodden negative filled suitcase at the station.

Wild,
Sorry but I think you took the last post the wrong way,
The definition of what a BAN is ,was posted to give an answer to a question asked.
As to my remark about renaming the district, note the smiley face. We all learn from events from the past.
I am in complete agreement that this BOE is moving in a positive direction.
The posts I were refering to are not the old BOE, but the current Admin.
I have been back here for the last 3 years and have been paying as the rest of you. My concern is let the kids get back their programs that they should always have had, and reduce spending on other items.
I reread my post to see how you could have taken it as a "rant". Sorry I just don't see it. I would like one of the BOE members to give a broader explanation of the BANs to help us all out.
No dwelling in the past, lets just learn from it.
With all sincerity,... there are positions open for the BOE. AGAIN, with all truth and sincerity, you, and a couple of others posting and others that had run in the last election, have the kids at heart and are involved in the issues. A lot of time is needed, but the return for the kids is worth it. You are one, from your positions that you write of,that would have my vote.
I hope this clarifies things a little better and you understand my point of view is for the kids, the community, but not for Spin.
Your's and Patriot's posts get a lot of the message out. I hope you understand my point of view better now. We are on the same page. The kids are what its about.

The kids are what its about. Brian, I apologize for not recognizing the spirit in which your post was intended. I also appreciate your kind words and support. And I do sometimes drill without Novocaine. All of us who post here are doing it with OUR kids at heart and we are all tugging the rope together, trying to make Plainedge into a even better place for OUR children. Your quote above is the bottom line.

That is the reason I tell my son to not put anything in writing on Insant message or my space. When you are not talking face to face with someone you cannot read the body language or read how the statement was said, IE, laughing about it or saying it busting chops. Sometimes technology can lead to a whole new set of problems, we really don't know the context that somethingh is said anymore with e-mail and message boards. I see the kids nowdays are breaking up with each other on line and not even talking about it face to face. Maybe the old days were better!!!
