Wild, we are on the same page.
We need people from every school who are knowledgeable about the workings of the budget process to help and spread the word. It's that simple. But people need to step up, not only you, patriot, Devil, Go, working, and the others.
Lets get this done. Lets get this budget passed !!!!

I also agree with the last few postings. I think the problem we have here is that the large majority of the community all want what we discuss here on this board. However, unfortunate as it is, there is a smaller core of the community that is willing to work for it. I am not here to insult anyone but it is just the way it is. People will vote YES on 5/15 but some do not want to go to the meetings and do the work on the Vote Yes Campaign as they do not want to disrupt there lives. As far as I am concerned as long as they are a YES vote, I am okay with a smaller group of the community doing the work. Don't get me wrong, the more the merrier. As the quote master Wild might say, " Many hands make light work". Lets get the budget finalized in the next couple of weeks to the liking of the COMMUNITY and to the benefit of OUR CHILDREN. Then we will continue to do the work both the labor and promotion end of it and prepare for another election night celebration.

That is a classic quote that also included the line "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor"

Holy Cow!!! I don't log on for two days and all hell breaks lose. Go- I have to admit when I started reading your earlier posts I was getting a little concerned that you were siding with the "NO VOTERS". After reading your more recent posts I feel more confident that your more friend than foe... Pedgeneeds - I think the message we need to get out to the NO VOTERS is that the Budget vote has been changed to May 16th.... I agree with Wild and the others....We have to maximize return on our investment.....our investment of time. If we spend 2 hours talking to NO VOTERS or 2 hours talking to FENCE SITTERS where will we get the bigest return on our investment of time.... I think the main thing we have to do, is the same as last year....awaken the Silent YES VOTER....Get his @#$ off the couch and get him to the polls and vote. We have to make sure we have every registered voter showing up to the polls.....Absentee ballots in....High School Seniors voting.....Last Years Seniors coming back to Vote.....If we get more people voting...Those additional voters undoubtedly will be supporting our children. However, ANYONE WHO STILL THINKS THAT VOTING NO ON THE BUDGET IS STICKING IT TO THE BOE OR THE ADMIN HAS BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS....
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY WOULD EVEN FOR ONE SECOND THINK THAT THEIR VOTE CAN BE USED TO STICK IT TO DR. EVIL Lets get this budget ratified which includes a huge amount of programs for the children.....Then lets focus on getting out the vote....The Yes Vote....All others, jump on board the YES TRAIN or GET RUN OVER!

Pammo, I would expect you to agree with Wild and Devil. You 3 always seems to come to each other defense when someone doesn't think like you. "However, ANYONE WHO STILL THINKS THAT VOTING NO ON THE BUDGET IS STICKING IT TO THE BOE OR THE ADMIN HAS BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROCK FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS...." "I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY WOULD EVEN FOR ONE SECOND THINK THAT THEIR VOTE CAN BE USED TO STICK IT TO DR. EVIL " I do not understand.. aren't these the 2000 no voters which is it? Those 2 statements are the exact reasons these people need to be reached!

This issue is falling fast from healthy debate towards contrary bickering
Can WE try to agree that WE will attempt to reach out to every facet of OUR community for the betterment of OUR children…..There MAY be a point in the fact that with what has been accomplished so far, WE may have chipped away at the hardened shell of some fence sitters and no voters and, as they are concerned (ill-informed, but still concerned) citizens of Plainedge, they are still from our town and potentially a vote in favor of OUR children..
I'll try not to attach labels…..if anyone I happen to run into is willing to listen to what I have to say re: the budget and the changes happening here in P-Town, I’ll be happy to share…..If they are adamant in their unwillingness to listen to a differing POV, I’ll move on.
I'm all for starting fresh on Mondays.

All, everyones point is valid here.
I think the point everyone agrees with is that communication is paramount. We need to get the word out again this year as it was done last year, and maybe try to convince a few more. 4000 yes votes is an EYE CATCHER !!!!!
We don't have a lot of time, we need to get organized. I know the signs are ready. What about the budget awareness day? Lets add some coal to the engine and get the wheels in motion!

Patsy,
The minute that this board does what the community asks and ratifies the budget with ALL the programs WE asked for it included, the starters pistol will fire and we’ll be on.
As you well know based on our personal conversations, the plans are there for a well-run and successful VOTE YES campaign.
Just waiting on the BOE to do the right thing, ratify this bad boy and watch the good people of P-Town go to work.

Pneeds,
Thanks for linking me to such fine individuals as Devils & Wild....However, at this junture we are gonna have to agree to disagree. Don't let my pessimism prevent you from speaking to the no voters and converting them.
Patriot, Wild & The Others.....
I am waiting for the Fair & Equitable budget to be ratified. Once that is done I will help in anyway possible. I look forward to the BOE doing what is right for the children of Plainedge....Making them whole again after Austerity.
I do remain optimistic that we can awaken the Yes Voters of last year again.....The voters who are in favor of supporting the children of this community regardless of age or grade level.
Hopefully if the Admin wants to pass this budget they will take the advice of Mr. Wildrover and add some additional polling machines so we can kill the 1 hour long lines of last year.

Wild,Pammo,
you are correct, I jumped the gun.
My thought process is this.... with the $30 per household PER YEAR cost for bringing back SO MANY PROGRAMS for OUR kids, in my book it's a no brainier!!!
I didn't hear one person object on the resident side at the last board meeting, so I am assuming the BOE will take under great consideration the voices that were heard !!!!
We stand poised, ready to spread the word of a FAIR and EQUATABLE budget !!!!

To all:
My original comments that sparked such debate was really meant to make everyone think of all possible angles for this yearly journey. We can not think in one color.
P-Ammo - I hold no grudge toward how someone votes as long as they are voting with as much information as possible. If they choose to vote NO based on knowledge they have and NOT on a basis of FU to the BOE and Admin, then thats fine with me...it's their right.
I may not like it but hold no animosity toward them.
