For any person to be upset or feel that people should not be meeting with the Town Officials privately or otherwise should just get a grip. I am 67 years old and have some advise. Go meet with your town officials. Give them you thoughts and your advise on what should be done. Give them your wonderful ideas. There is so much intelligence and business minded people in this community they could learn from some of you. I see some of you with careers, family and homes that run entire leagues of sports with 100's of children in them. Parents that pay to have their own lawns done, raking and lining field to insure kids can play organized sports safely. As well as spending the time to plan, organize, teach the children. We have witnessed miracles in getting things done. Stop the nonsense, the town pulled out and for whatever reason they give, they did it and that is that. Move on and offer sound advise to one another. I do feel the people that run the organized sports clubs are in fact leaders. 100's of people sign up their children to play sport and have absolutely no idea of the time, efforts and leadership skills it takes to make it happen. They give up so much for so many and have only the best of intentions for the children that play, it makes you wonder how or why they would do it. It certainly is more than a pat on the back. It is a true, steadfast leader that would take on such responsibility. The same for a board of ed member. It certainly can not be for the paycheck. They certainly are not posting here for pat on the back. For any of them that read the posts here, they are some tough people that can take a lot of verbal abuse and still want the best for your children.
If you do not wish to follow then lead. If you do not wish to lead then put out your ideas to those who can and willing to get things done and please stop bickering who is wrong or right. I read the posts and am very upset to see some of you actually have to explain yourselves. I am proud to live in a community that wants so much for the children as well as preserve this district. Believe me those that pat themselves on the backs should . For those that do not and work so hard then I applaud you. I see what some of you young people are doing and our neighborhoods are beautiful our school fields are worked on by weekend warriors that we all should be proud of. Your homes are all beautifully kept and I see every day where some of you are adding not only wonderful additions but keeping the values of all of our homes in tact.
If some of the so called people who you feel are the self proclaimed leaders of the community go and seek answers and give their thoughts to the Town and you have a problem, then do the same. You all can you know. I believe that anyone who has sweat equity invested in this district, that they as well as everyone of us has the right to go and request the time and attention of the Town officials to get something done. If anyone honestly feels that anyone on this site is doing this for themselves I can only say GROW UP! Call the Town yourselves and see what you can do to make where you live and your children grow up a better place. This all boils down to the bottom line. We did it for years now - it's your turn. Don't turn against each other and use this amazing informational forum to down each other. Pick each other up and work together for the future of your children. You are doing for the kids and the longer you wait, they will grow up and you will grow old but what happens now affects the their future as well as you own. Work together, the older generation had their day but make no mistake we need you now and those of us who know how things work wish you to please be sure to put all of your wonderful brains together and secure your futures and realize the kids you are doing it for are watching. Show them how it is done, show them the community spirit that raised over 1/2 millions dollars and show the Town who you are and what you have to offer. You have done so much already. If we had this kind of communication lines in our day, I am sure that things would have been very different. Don't hide behind words here, stand forward with your actions and work together.
As far as who did what and what should have, would have, could have been done, will get this district no where fast. To those who did take the time to meet with the Town I would like to offer a pat on the back to you, I would also like to thank you! Of course people may have oppositional feelings and that makes for healthy debates and opens doors for new ideas. Just do not make it personal. Do not undermine what is posted here. It is information, use it and add to it. As a woman that put a lot of time and sweat equity to the kids in my day, I wish you all good luck in your decisions and I pray that you can make something happen. This world has certainly become a crazy one and I applaud those that take the time to get out there to the meetings and say their peace. This is wonderful forum to report information but in government you must show yourself and be heard. To those that do, I respect you and hope more of you do the same.
