The messages on this Forum are degenerating into childish bickering and are missing the point of this Forum. The reason the administrator set up the board is best stated in the Acceptable Use Policy right at the top of the opening page. Take time to read it once again before your next post. Especially the part that reads:
==============================================================================
Using the message boards can be informative, helpful and entertaining. People receive support; learn about community issues and events, share their interests, and meet new friends on the boards. The boards should be a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone

One of the first things we should be sharing is information on how we will make this School term the best one we can for the children of the district , especially now that we must operate under a Contingency Budget.
Personally fighting over which of the many past student test scores accurately reflect how the Board or the Administration performed to prove or disprove one's point of view is not productive toward meeting today's and tomorrow's goals. The many test scores were the result of the student's work under the more favorable operating budget of yesterday.
What will they be if we don't pull together and share our interests - the children's education?
Let's inform each parent and their children and the teachers of just what additional aids are out there to help them with their studies. And let's personally provide aid ourselves.
Let's each pledge to work together to resolve, not bicker about, the issues that have caused so many Budget defeats in the recent past. And let us listen to each other.
Let's not dwell on silly and immature events that happened in the past, especially ones that had more adult solutions available - that we did not use for ourselves. Instead we took childish response paths so that we could later say - "nan-na-nan-na, He didn't do his job when they called me a dirty name!" or "nan-na-nan-na, They told me to vote no"
Let's treat each other as adults, and show Adult-Adult respect to each other.
It's time for the Board and the Administration to recognize that about half of the Plainedge residents who vote on the Budget find the budget information to be disagreeable, not just a few. And it's time for all the Plainedge residents to accept that they are split on this issue.
This makes it an ideal time that, through this Forum, we express and listen to each others viewpoints. And that we present viewpoints, not personal attacks.
This may help to arrive at budgetary preparation and understanding that is more agreeable to many more residents. And to a budget that meets the needs of quality education while being within the ability of all residents to pay for. A budget which is within the means of large portion of the residents, but drastically exceeds the means of small group, is one that needs reconsideration. Cost saving alternatives existed in the past, and will be there tomorrow.
And, working together we, the community, have come up with additional items for the Board to consider. This Forum is one means to present those items during the entire year, not just during a "defense/attack" budget hearing where childish and immature personal jabs color our verbal exchanges. Or "Authoritarian" attitudes shout "shut up and sit down"! when the information is disagreeable to the intended recipient. More patience is needed by all of us.
Maturely listened to and considered, these items can be accepted or rejected with reasoned explanations - and not as a "final word", but open to further refinements by others.
This may enable a budget to pass on the first vote next year.
