Just thought I'd share this with the group, in case no one had a chance to see it....From plainedgeschools.org:
John Comforto, a PHS Senior, has been named by the College Board as a National SAT Semi-Finalist. There were 1.3 milion entrants, 50,000 high scorers and 16,000 semi-finalists nationally. In March, 8,2006 national winners will be announced. John has an average of 108, and has also been named a National Advanced Placement Scholar with Honors. John is a modest young man with a great sense of humor. We congratulate John Comforto on his academic successes and wish him good luck in March.
Congrats and good luck!

Go Plainedge,
That was great news, a posting showing the good things that are happening in our schools. Thanks, it's the kind of news that needs to be shared.

Something GOOD!That's what this Forum is! And again, my many thanks to the individual who started it and continues to maintain it! Hat's off to the Administrator! And when the coming election is soon over and we have all resolved our "difficulties" let's remember to give a big round of applause for the Administrator who helped to make this happen! Think of what was - the original Community Forum, paid for by all of us by Property taxes to the School District. And now look at it - still paid for by our taxes but doing nothing for us! It hasn't even presented a line item budget - just the bottom line number mixed in with a lot of misinformation about "how much per day" is the increase. What a misuse of public funds! And see what has transpired on this Forum! Forget the ramblings of Former Board members trying to use the old techniques of misinformation and misdirection. Look instead to the many new forum users who are capturing the many truths about Plainedge and updating and informing their neighbors about events that actually happened. We are all better informed and can better choices because of them and because of the vehicle of this forum which has made it happen. This forum is a shining example of what makes Plainedge one of the best communities on Long Island. I'm glad that I can use it - as are the many other contributing and using residents of Plainedge. It has arrived as a useful force and is growing in importance to each and every one of us - as a free service provided by one hell of a dedicated member of this community. Three cheers for the Administrator! Ed. P.S. Some "Stats" about the site: There have been 31,406 readings of the 1577 Postings about the 135 Topics on this site from 56 signed in members. To post, you need to sign in - so there's been an average of 28 posts per member! Quite active are they!. Each post has been read, on average, 20 times. Quite interesting are they! But it is Topic that takes the cake with 233 reads per topic. Hot topics are they! May this Forum long shine as an example of a community Service!
