Hey all, last night I caught the end of Max Preps High School Weekly on MSG network. For those not familiar it highlights High School Football. Our coach was named Coach of the year by The New York Giants. Two coaches were picked, one by the NY Jets and one by the Giants, out of all the coaches in the tri-state area! I believe the prize was $2,000.00 to our school. Let's make sure the money really goes to sports!!!!!!!! Did anyone else see this? I checked the MSG network sight but could not get any info. Congrats again to all of Plainedge Football and parents!!!! Well deserved.

Momma3 -
Here's from the MSG Network at a slightly later time: =======================================
Each week, the Giants selected a high school football coach of the week from the Tri-State area, and the NFL contributed a $1000 donation to their respective schools. At the end of the season, they name a coach of the year, and the NFL will forward a $2000 donation to that coach's program.
Rob Shaver Plainedge HS, New York Career: 10 years, 48-37
In what defied all logic, the graduate of Island Trees High School led his team to the Nassau County Conference 3 Title in a year that was never supposed to even happen.
Back in the summer, Plainedge was going to drop all sports due to budget problems, but the community got together and raised over a half-million dollars. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Vinny Laino Fort Hamilton HS, Brooklyn Career: 15 years, 96-42
Laino, who in the early 1990's led the Tigers to 24 consecutive victories in the PSAL-B Division, claimed his first ever PSAL Big School Championship on Saturday, Dec. 3.
Laino's Fort Hamilton squad beat Lehman High School, 46-22. =======================================
Many thanks to you for the swell "Heads UP" to us all!
