Since this Message Board does cover the Plainedge School District - there is another entity in the District that is having a meeting - and it is tonight!
That entity is the Plainedge Public Library. You are all welcome to come. The Pledge will kick-off the meeting about at 7pm. The first element of work however, besides moving the Minutes of the prior meeting, will be Board discussions with the Library attorney concerning possible pending legal actions - so the public will be asked to wait in the Library itself until that task is finished. It should be about a half hour wait.
Then you'll see the Board in action with the Financial matters of the Library - the monthly reports of expenditures against Budget and the review of each and every account. Plus - the total Financial Balance sheets for the month and for the year to date. Considered after that are the various Funds Balances, encumbered and unencumbered, and the interest earned in each account. Also considered is the activity reports for the month - just what have we done for the public during that period. Director's and Departments reports follow as does Old Business and New business. The meeting should close at about 10 or 10:30 pm.
Feel free to ask questions as the meeting progresses. If you'd like to see any of the reports that the Board has been examining for the past week in preparation before the meeting, just ask. I'm sure they'll share with you.

Plainedge Public Library Meeting.
As usual, the Public Library is holding its meeting this coming Wednesday night.
The meeting starts at 7pm and all are welcome.
We are having a guest at this meeting, the new NLS Area Representative from this Library local group of six Libraries.
He represents us on the NLS Board with regard to all the shared resources, including the inter-Library loans and the shared electronic Card File index (Automated Library Information Services, or ALIS) of all books and resources available throughout Nassau County.
That's the Card File system you can even access from your home to order books delivered to your local library from almost anywhere in the State's library system.
"Come on down" as they say on the tube - and see the Library Board in action.
That's tomorrow night at 7!
