For the rest of us,
Could you refresh our memories and make a guess at what press coverage and TV will be at the Parade? Can the LI Press do a feature on it? After all, the newsworthiness is that it's not the often in these current days that an entire community turns out to advocate FOR passing the Budget - while most are rejecting Budgets.
Are we going to have an easy means to post all those pictures we take on the Plaintalkonline site? What about the video clips?
When and where will the "refreshments" be available along the way for us "older geezers" that need them? Will there be "Bandstand areas" along the way for those that just want to come out and watch - cheering the more hardy souls on?
And - how about a post-parade "List of the Marchers" being posted here and on the Plaintalkonline site?
How about having all the Candidates march in one group with large, large, very large name-tags? Nothing like another side-by-side comparison! The "No-Shows" should be very conspicuous!
Just a few questions from from someone that'll try their best to make it to the Parade.
Ed.

Facts, I can give the Patriot a well needed rest on this one and give you some insight.
Each one of the media types that covered the spring/summer/fall fund raising efforts will be notified. (Channels 2,4,12,21,55 and of course Newsday). Their contact names and numbers were kept on file just for instances like this newsworthy community event. Hopefully they can provide a crew to come out on a Saturday late morning/early afternoon. Thats the tough sell and logistically hard for them. We have been successful in the past though.
I cant say we will have band stands as I know of no-one who could provide them. A thought might be to ask the town. I am pretty sure that spectators will have to rough it in a lawn chair or on their feet.
I am sure the parade committee can make some type of arrangement to have water available at a point on the parade route, another good idea.
There is a growing list of vintage and collectible cars that want to be part of our parade. We will be glad to make arrangements to have you ride in anyone of your choice. We recognize that its a long walk for some of those in their advanced years and the guy who is getting the car clubs together has no problem with giving the people who need a lift, ...a lift.
It might be a bit busy that day to keep track as to who was and wasn't there and there is always the risk of forgetting someone and hurting feelings so it might be best to leave that type of posting to individual posters.
And as for what the candidates do.....its up to them to make the most out of the opportunity.
The brass ring is there for every kid on the merry-go-round, no?
Its the ones that want it the most that usually get it.

I'll send an e-mail to Dave Mejias to ask if he can move the town to provide support with Stands or Bandstands. This'll give him and some of the other polictico's the opportunity to reach for one of those "brass rings".
I'll let you know about the response.
Is there anyway to get the Plainedge School Band involved? Music does draw crowds!
