Just an FYI, I have one child who attends West and I received the flyer reguarding the parade in his folder this week which was great! However, on the baseball field today, we were given the info for picture day which is Saturday morning at Schwarting. I mentioned how it will be very busy up there because of the parade and a few people had no idea what I was talking about!!! Ofcourse I spread the word but it was kind off scary how uniformed some people can be!!!

Also, this is to GOPYBL - wont the scheduling of baseball pictures conflict with people who would like to be involved with the parade. Obviously it wasnt planned this way on purpose but because of pictures some of us will miss out on the parade!!

May Fair weather shine over all of you during today's Parade! At 11am you'll start your march from Schwarting to West, dressed in your Plainedge Red and full of joy. May it be THE Parade of your life, remembered forever and ever. And may the memories be further enhanced - by the Success you achieve. Regards to all, Ed. Ed, It was a great day for Plainedge!!! To see so many generations of proud Plainedgeians parading up Hicksville Road was quite a site too see. Those ladies that worked so hard putting that parade together should get a standing ovation. The float could have been in the Macy's parade. One man made it himself. Unbelievable! Some great classic autos too!! The Budget Awareness Day was a rousing success as well. A huge turnout, KJOY radio doing a live feed from J.H. West, the BOE candidates had booths set up and were answering questions and informing the community of their platforms and plans for change. Great for the democratic process and allowing citizens to make informed decisions. Highschool students got to speak over the loud system and explain to the crowd in such a articulate and mature manner how important the clubs, sports and honor societies they belong to are so important to their educational experience and helped shape them into the fine young people they are today. They are our future and we will surely be proud to say they were products of Plainedge schools. Hundreds of cars had to have been washed today!! Everyone pitching in, some very cute scenes playing out with little ones washing cars side by side with big hulking linemen who were alongside a BOE member, who was along side a community activist, who was along side a teacher, who was alongside someone who just happened by, saw something going on and pitched in to help. Local business donating water, sodas, pizza, 3 grills going cooking burgers and dogs that were all donated. We have some great grillers here in town. Those guys and gals were cooking up a storm and looked like they were having a ball doing it. Little tiny kids with huge smiles on their faces, the type of smile that only having a helium balloon tied to a tiny wrist could bring. It was truly a scene straight out of small town America, a community coming together for a common goal. It's what makes Plainedge such a special community in which to live and raise our families. It is why it is so important that this budget pass. To continue with this community spirit, to utilize it and build on it, to keep the momentum moving forward to help make the necessary changes so things are done better. PLEASE VOTE YES FOR OUR CHILDREN!
PLEASE VOTE YES FOR PLAINEDGES FUTURE!
AND PLEASE VOTE YES TO KEEP THIS COMMUNITIES MOMENTUM MOVING FORWARD, POSITIVELY TOWARDS DOING THINGS BETTER!!
