I would just like to remind everyone that Doug Pascarella stood up for all of the children in this community and would not deviate from his desire to bring back all sports and academic programs when others on the Board of education were thinking about piece mealing the sports and academic restorations together. That took an enormous amount of courage for him to stand Side by Side with Frank Presuto. This especially important for someone who knew he was up for re-election this year.
Also, Nancy Giris, Donna Macpherson and Dana Dougherty fought the hard fight for our children getting the Academic Clubs and enrichment programs added back to our curriculum. If all three were running for election I would vote for all three of them. Since Nancy is the only one of the three running....Nancy has my vote. Good luck Nancy.

Help- I was stuck at home with the "three kids" tonight, and could not attend the "Meet the Candidate" night? Could someone PLEASE fill me in the details and your opinions? If one of the "3" was not sick, I would have dragged them there. Please let me know how the night went. Who seemed stronger? Thanks so much!

Overall, all 3 candidates did a fairly good job. All three seemed very nervous and rightfully so. However, I felt it to be an extremely poor showing on the community's part. There were only about 40-45 people there. In my opinion Nancy was the most prepared and answered the questions most thoroughly. I felt Douglas showed as the weakest. I didn't believe he was able to answer the questions in a manner that was suitable for the people attending. However, three years experience is in his corner. Dennis spoke with confidence and had some good thoughts (even with his son possibly in jail - HA! - that's a joke people, you had to be there). In my opinion, I don't care for the set up. I would have liked all three to answer the same questions (as there were some good questions asked). Additionally, I would like them to stand - perhaps behind a podium. It allows us to see their body language a little more and allows the candidates to express themselves better while answering questions.

GoPlainedge,
I couldn't agree more with your comments.
Based on last year’s turnout, I was expecting many more people. I think next year, I would make sure there would be an announcement regarding the 'meet the candidate night' in the budget brochure that goes out. Although there was an introduction of the candidates in this year’s brochure, there was nothing on the 'meet the candidates' night.
When I rehearsed my 2 minute into, I was always standing and was more comfortable standing than seating. I also would have liked to answer all questions. You would have noticed that I, at times, interjected answers to other questions that I did not have a chance to answer, even though it didn't pertain to the question at hand.
