I've been wondering about something for many years.....If we are a "Union Free" school district, why is there organized labor and contracts for the teachers?
Isn't this the same thing as unionized labor? Does anyone have any clarification on this?

A union free school district is a district resulting from a "union" of multiple common school districts, "free" from the restrictions that previously barred them from operating high schools. Union free school districts are governed by a board of education composed of between three and nine members.
You just have to hit search on your computer

Thanks 4. Your search feature works better than mine and it's easier to ask.... In other words "Union Free" doesn't really mean what it implies. That's what i was looking for as the term is very misleading.
