Hello all. I hope everyone is healthy out there! I rec. a copy of this email from a teacher at Levittown schools and was wondering if there was any mention of any precautionary action in our schools. It sounds like a good idea. Any thoughts?
Hello, this is Levittown Public Schools calling with an update on the Swine Flu. As you know, the World Health Organization has raised the level of alert relative to the Swine Flu to the second highest level, which means that we all should take precautionary measures to avoid contamination.
Although the Levittown School District has had no cases of Swine Flu reported, beginning tomorrow we will be instituting a hand washing protocol developed in conjunction with New York State Pandemic guidelines.
Students will be instructed on proper hand washing procedures and will be utilizing a hand sanitizing lotion designed to help prevent the spread of the swine flu virus. Students will be required to use this lotion twice a day, unless parents provide an objection in writing, in which case students will only be required to participate in the hand washing portion of the activity.

Yesterday, Newsday reported a death from Swine flu in Nassau Co. No further information as to age, location,etc,.. Great reporting again from Cable owned Newsday.
My grandkid's school, out of state, was closed Thursday because 2 kids have been reported to have swine flu.
All other Health Dept. info says to just take the regular precautions as you would each season.
Hope everyone stays well.
