Dear Plainedge Residents, I am Frank Presuto and for those that do not know me, I was appointed to the BOE in November of 2005 and was elected to the board in May of 2006. My 3 year term is up this year and I have submitted my petition to run again this year. I want to first say that I took a long time thinking this over and have had discussions with my wife as well. I have decided to withdraw from this years election. With all that is happening at home (medical issues with my wife) and the fact that I have 2 young children - I felt it was best to withdraw. I did not think it would have been fair to my family, the children of Plainedge, or the taxpayers of our community to run and then possibly not be able to devote the time and efforts necessary to be effective. My family, the children of Plainedge, and the taxpayers deserve a representative that can truly focus on them and give them 100%. Due to medical reasons at home - I cannot say that I would have definitely been able to do that and that is not fair to anyone. Let me finish by saying - I want to thank ALL that have supported me and have sent their prayers to me and my family. Who knows, after all gets better at home, I may even run again in a year or 2. Sincerely, Frank Presuto Board Of Education Trustee PS - Congrats to the other candidates. I will be watching ;D

Frank:
Sorry to learn of your situation at home. I hope it all works out for you.
As with any BOE member there are some that agree with your decisions and some that don't. Regardless, you have devoted a tremendous amount of time and effort and we are grateful for that. Not many could do what you and so many other BOE members (past and present) do.
Thank you for trying to help us, a community, grow and evolve. Thank you for trying to better the education of our children.

Anyone know who the other candidates are?
I received my "Meet the Candidates Night" notice the DAY it was happening from the PTA Council. I wish I had more notice as to when it was happening. I would have been able to attend.
