Hello everyone. As some of you may or may not know, Frank Presuto will not be seeking re-election to the Plainedge School Board this year. Frank has been a valued board member for the community and I hope you join me in thanking him for his service.
There is a person running for Franks vacant seat who many of us know and I hope those who don't do get to know her.
Anne Weeks, has over the years has been a vocal resident on all issues concerning our children. Her passion for the well being of the students and the district is outstanding. Her dedication to detail and bringing information to board meetings as a resident is unsurpassed. (Please see attached for information on Anne)
I know Anne personally (don't hold that against her !!!) and she is an intelligent, resourceful and energetic individual. We worked together with many other residents raising the funds to restore sports and clubs in 2005 and again on the Plainedge Tax Reform Committee in 2006, where we lobbied the state to increase aid to the district. I believe her business achievements, her involvement in community activities, and her willingness to be outspoken at board meeting on behalf of the community make her a perfect choice for the open BOE seat.
If you know Anne, you'll understand what I am saying. If you don't, I ask that you find out about her, for when you do, I'm sure you will want to vote for her and have Anne Weeks represent our community.
If you can find the time to pass this on to your organizations or neighbors it would be appreciated.
I wish the community good luck in the upcoming budget vote and Packard deal.
Have a great summer !
Thank you,
Phil Toscano
