Plainedge has lost a good Man today.
Thats not a mis-spelling...this guy was a Man with a captital M.
A true gentleman, who had the children of Plainedge at the forefront of his intentions in every community action he ever undertook.
He will be terribly missed.
Say a prayer for his wife and children.
God rest your soul Joe Chaloupka.
Plainedge weeps for you...

On behalf of Plainedge Matpower and the entire wrestling community I would like to extend our condolences to the Chaloupka family. Joe was an integral member of Plainedge wrestling. He touched many lives, more than can be counted. He was a friend, a follower, and a leader in the most demanding of all sports. He was an innovator and a visionary, a man who had problems solved before others realized that problems existed. His impact on the graduating class cannot be underestimated; he was a powerful influence, a slight man with a giant shadow. It will be a long time till we see his like again. He was a friend, he was loved and he will be missed by many. Brian McDonaugh

PGSA is having a charity Managers/Coaches softball game this Saturday (tomorrow), after their regular scheduled games. They are going to match their concession stand earnings for the entire day, and donate both those funds to the family. Please show your support to the Chaloupkas and come down.

To the Chaloupka Family,
Joe and I worked together at my house on his Appeal to the Commissioner. We "broke bread" together several times - and my house was his house as we shared, along with my son Brian, several tales of school life as it really happens. My son and Joe went to Plainedge at the same time - and they enjoyed swapping long lost tales of adventures centered around their life at school in Plainedge. He was a very warm, joyous and dedicated person, taking extra care to see that his children got fair treatment as they went through the Plainedge School system. I miss him. I respect him.
As with Joe himself, please remember always that "My House is Your House". And if there ever comes a time where I can share anything with you and your children about Joe, or just provide an eager ear to talk to, don't hesitate to come over, or just call. I'd welcome the chance to "break bread" with you and yours.
In the meantime, our family's sincerest condolences on your loss; which is also our loss. We all will miss him.
Ed Dowdell
