Ogden - Thanks for joining us on this message Board... Although I enjoyed your banter regarding Raymond & Presuto I will not be commenting on that.... A birdie told me that Elphaba = Ellen Ryder Frawg = Maryann Karageorges No Surprise there. Let us not forget to thank these ladies for signing the Richman contract. As for the debates on what this message board is for....YES, it was created to share all of our opinions. If you don't agree with with someones opinion, that's fine. Like Wild said....we are adults. Lead by example.

Patriot - Thanks for sharing those questions....I am going to submit only one....
1) If you don't speak up as an audience member....What would lead us to believe you will speak up as a member of the BOE?
At least Capone is visible and vocal at the BOE meetings.... I think she is hurting herself by hitching her wagon to the invisible men....Maryann, don't let these two men kill your chances....
By the way, I saw the first Capone, Fox, Lassman flyer hanging in the Diner yesterday....At least I know what Fox and Lassman look like now cause their picture was on the flyer. Only 15 days left to go.
Mr Just facts....I am confused by your last post....Are you supporting C_P_R, who you have championed for months....or are you flip flopping to Capone, Fox, & Lassman?? If you are Flip Flopping, can you share with us the one item that caused you to change your mind? Thanks in advance for you sharing your thoughts.

ogden22Flip Flopping? Oh ye of little insight! Just because I posted some info about what factors I think are necessary to consider when selecting a candidate without ever naming one candidate or the other? Just because I didn't name one candidate, let alone one group, over the other? Just because I made one post without advocating for """"MY"""" candidates! Just because I made one post without knocking """"YOUR"""" candidates by name? What limited thought you put into reading that post!Go back and read it again - and figure out for yourself which of the candidates best fit the factors I thought are important! Then give me a private post and tell me who you thought I had in mind! I'll tell you there if you are right or not. As I said, I have made up my mind who I'm supporting. They can tell you how I"m going to vote also. Why not ask the candidates?
But just because I did not broadcast to others in that post specifically who these candidates of my choice are, doesn't mean I'm vacillating on my choice!gopybl How can you say I care not what others think? Think again in a logical way, with your head not your - - - whatever it was you used to reach to that wrong conclusion. If I have not cared about what others think, then why have I posted so many answers to questions asked of me on this site? When someone says they are an independent thinker - they in no way say they don't care about what others think, or respect what others think! I often have made it apparent that I do favor others making up their own minds - that's why the last post that did not mention one candidate by name. You should know I care what others think from prior conversations. And by taking this time to ask you to correct your statement - it shows that I care what you think about me! Ed Now on to the real task - making sure that the children get the most from the Budget money!

Trust me, if their is someone in P-town who cares not what others think, its Mr. Facts....Facts, I know that gopybl is more than able to defend himself, but when I read the above post, i honestly percieved it as a compliment being given to you....I took the meaning of go's words as this " If there is someone in P-Town who does not let what others say intimidate him or sway him easily, its Mr. Facts".... Thats how these ears heard what these eyes saw....In all my past conversations with the man, he professed nothing but a respect for your knowledge.......I truly believe he was just throwing you some prop's...........JMHO. Hey guys! Just cause some think me a stiff egghead doesn't mean that I don't have a sense of humor! ;D Why I think it's positively funny that some of the Richman shills on this site think that others can't see right through them and their intentions! And their sanctimonious and pompous follow ups are a hoot! I also think it's funny that Richman still thinks he's got some chance to keep working in this District! And I think it's funny that there are those that think, once the budget is passed, that everybody is going to crawl back in their shell and go to sleep until the next Budget! Ed. Now onto the task of putting the most Budget money back into the Children's Programs!

And I think it's funny that there are those that think, once the budget is passed, that everybody is going to crawl back in their shell and go to sleep until the next Budget! I can promise you that’s not going to happen. Not a chance. As for the question “Will Long Island voters wise up? WE in P-Town wised up many months ago. The outstanding efforts of those residents that organized and galvanized this community throughout this past year will ensured that. As was stated before in other posts, for the first time in recent history, a very large representation of Plainedge took part in the budget formulation process. Because of those efforts, WE are far ahead of other districts on Long Island. WE have formulated a plan whereby a consensus was reached that no matter who wins the school board elections, CHANGE, is necessary and that has been acknowledge by each of the 6 candidates. Those candidates are hopefully formulating answers to the previous posted questions so WE can best choose those that are going to facilitate that CHANGE. “Wising up” to Plainedge voters should mean choosing the candidate that would best bring about the necessary CHANGES!!.How one votes with regards to the budget will not accomplish that change.. WE already made that clear. 4Max stated in one of her posts that after a recent community organized meeting that: “It was nice to see the strides that have been made this year in the faces of those who attended. Makes me feel like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel "4Max is so very correct!!! That ‘Light” is a beacon of hope, lit by the residents of Plainedge…. and after this budget passes and the critical process of CHANGE begins, OUR beacon will be the guiding light for all Long Island school districts because of the actions of a caring, involved and informed residency.Vote YES for OUR kids!! Vote YES for the (brightly lit) Future of Plainedge!!

Ed - You completely took me out of context....I most likely chose the wrong verbage to describe you. The rover was correct, I was trying to be complementary by saying that you were an independent thinker and someone who could not be intimidated to change his mind.
I would thank you for the kisses, but I wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea....LOL
Rover - Thanks for having my back.

See - even on the simplest of messages someone like me can read wrong! It may take a second or third time of repeating it before I get the message straight! But - Say! Hey! I do change my mind - especially in light of new information and from commentary from others that may cause me to rethink my position. So please - keep the commentary coming. If you have a valid point, not just plain Board Statements a few have made here recently, I may alter what I think by reflecting on it! After all, I do greatly respect the intelligence shown by many on this site. And remember - Kisses can be made of candy! I'll pass some of those to you in place of the more common kind! Now back to getting at, and removing, the single cause of many of the problems in Plainedge! Let our champions for change prevail!

Strategy? Strategy? Who needs one if they have the backing of frawg88 and elphaba65? They'll tell everyone how bad that other group is! That's all that has to be said. As far as they are concerned, does anyone else out there count? And now, according to the post about the "flyer in the diner" they've done a copy cat "team up" to! Why should they waste time on campaigning when the "Meet Your Candidate night" will do it all for them? And for those "other" voters in the community that don't show up - well it's all their fault for not voting the RIGHT way, OUR way, the way that will be shown at the meeting. Ed. There's but one team that can revive this BOE and let the revived BOE take control of the Administration - and that's the C_P_R team! The other "TEAM" has but one woman as the star, a silent Fox and a laissez-faire (leave them alone!) Lasserman can't do it! I would vote for MaryAnn next year - I hope she runs then when the high priority need for the next few years becomes finances! This year's need is for removing, or restricting, the dominance of the source of our problem.

Rover and Patriot, Excellent questions and fair. If I may add; What will the candidate do to pressure our representatives? What is their strategy for mobilizing the community to maintain current state funding and obtain more? What actions will any of the candidates take to present budgets that are fiscally responsible, that are dollars and cents based, not merely "tell'em what they want to hear" ? What adminstrative costs can be cut? Do we really need this many high salaried executives to run a District this size?
We all know the situation in our District in particular, and on the Island in general. There will be people looking for jobs. I for one am not famaliar with tenure as it applies to adminstrative personnel, but perhaps there will be "free agents' who have been released from other districts in the same bind. If anyone can advise please do so.
My questions can be summed up as one general query: What will you do to prevent this from happening again?
One last question to all the candidates and present BOE members: What will you do to build a consensus that is reflective of the differing viewpoints of not only the community, but also of a ( I hope not) divided BOE?
Please put personal agendas aside. Recent posts have attempted to smear individuals who have, I believe, tried to do their best. If anyone does not meet your particular expectations please vote at the polls. Not by throwing misleading information or half=truths about any individual. Let the candidates answer any and all questions at Meet The Candidates Night.
On a side note: As the Rover has so correctly stated WE are leading the pack on Long Island in seeking solutions, lets continue to focus on continued improvement of OUR DISTRICT. There is enough work to do without getting bogged down in negativity.
Continue the Plainedge Resurgence!
