Hey Mr. Ed!!! Bring it on... Good job at the acronyms. How much of your worthless time did you spend on that one? You seem to be one of the biggest producers of library-dwelling,naysaying crtics who just seem to want to undermine this wonderful school distrcit. The kids and the rest of the community should all enjoy a district that offers it all...you seem bent on having the budget defeated at all costs...you will not win. The district has been found to have done nothing financially inappropriate on several occasions..I was at a HS football game last year and I was talking to an elderly fellow who sat next to me...all his children are grown...he was just enjoying a football game...why don't you enjoy a community that offers it all to everyone instead of trying to make HAY out of nothing....get a real job... Peace out. Remember...pray for the victims. JD

Don't waste your time with someone that has nothing to contribute here. He's here to incite and to try to brow beat. Ignore the fool. This person is nothing but a puppet and all of us know who the puppet master is.

Hey Yruohk...I need to come up with a better name for you...let's see....something appropriate....since you are really about Anti Child and anti Education...I'll call you ACE. So, ACE...In SPITE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU JD I don't know who you are, yet, but my guess is that you either got that ACE from someone else or you were around when my daughter petitioned to start the bible club at Plainedge HS when she was a 9th grader at which time she and I were labled A.C.E. ----- A Christian Eccentric through the grapevine or is it coincidence that you should come up with ACE as you did? It's quite awful to know there are people who are parents and/or administrators who will personally attack an individual by attacking their belief system or their ideology. I'm saddened at the thought that a personality such as yours exists. What more can I say but ask that all pray that you would arrive at humility, kindness and unselfishness for your fellow neighbor. You never know what tomorrow brings and you might regret your remarks and behavior of today. As for YRUOHK?...I can't say that pertains to you because you're not OK!

Hey Go Plainedge!!!
I think you are mis-informed about the "per-pupil spending" thing....have someone explain it to you...or better yet go to a boe meeting and ask a worthwhile question....Standard and Poors rated Eastplain elementary school as one of the best values for your money in NY State----scores in the top 10 and top 5 for various grade levels....Don't be mis-informed....and c'mon...show some love!!!
Peace out. Remember...pray for the victims.

In all candor, unless you can come here and produce hard facts, I'm done discussing this with you. You spew hot air and produce nothing to backup your statements. You've contributed nothing to this forum from the minute you signed up except looking to start arguments with other members. Where's your love? I want YOU to prove to me and the people of this forum your knowledge because your ignorance is getting the best of you and it's not very becoming. I'm not asking the Board, I'm not asking Mr. Richman right now, I'm asking YOU to put up your proof. Whats that? You don't have any? Just what I thought and hardly surprised. Perhaps you need to attend some board meetings to get the information and comprehend it. Please don't waste your time replying unless you have facts to back up your empty statements.

"jdavola",I would like to think that as my life goes on I will continue to learn things..So with that thought in mind, I would like to thank you for pointing me in the direction to do so! I appreciate the steering to Standard and Poors information. I think that if all of us read ALL of their reports(including the subscription ones) we will be even more convinced of what we on this forum think. You can't just take one little piece of a pie and say you ate the whole thing. The same as you can't use one little part of information and think that that is the whole story. Also you gave me thought to wonder about the OTHER rating sites for schools. In one, EASTPLAIN was rated about 140th out of about 180 Nassau schools listed. Thats how I came accross www.ratemyteachers.com and thanked the teachers in this district for their VERY good work. I owe that all to you. So, again let me thank you for helping our cause so much!

Wow, just when I thought I’ve seen and heard it all in this community, I discover this website.
My first impulse is to congratulate “jdevola” – you are the only person on this website, (which is supposed to give information about our SCHOOLS), to actually use the word EDUCATION!!!
My second impulse is to laugh and cry simultaneously at the rest of you. You sound like a bunch of bad actors in a spy movie. All of your favorite buzz words are right out of the script: covert mission, cloak and dagger, tape recording, censoring, hacking, checking with attorneys. If you believe for one minute that this is providing a valuable service to the community, then please don’t quit your day jobs.
Your coverage of the school board meetings provides no information about what my children are learning in school, or how the school district is performing academically. I know that the principals and administrators give a report each month about everything that is going on, and since I will have children in school for the next decade, I want to be an informed and involved parent. That’s my motivation for coming out to a school board meeting. I want to be assured that my hard earned tax dollars are being spent in the classroom. None of you mentioned all the wonderful student awards, our ranking among other districts or the fact that even our “special” children are meeting and exceeding the state’s requirements. That’s something to be proud of and to share with as many people as possible… so why aren’t you?
Instead you spend all of your time criticizing and insulting the very people who are making these things happen. Sorry to rain on your parade, but we do actually have to pay people to do these jobs. And, as long as they are producing the results I want for my children, I don’t begrudge them the salaries they are being paid. Maybe they’d be more congenial and receptive at meetings if those asking questions really wanted answers rather than a public forum to be bullies and know-it-alls.
Thanks, but no thanks… I’ll get my information from credible sources.

Arascabe: Welcome. I don't think anyone here will deny the fact that the teachers in our district do a great job educating our children. We all have the same goals here. We all want what's best for the kids. However, we believe in taking different roads to reach that goal. Some roads may seem a little unorthodox to others, but non-the-less, the goal is the same. Some people believe the more you spend the better things will get. Others believe differently. But, that's what makes this forum unique in that we all have different views/opinions and stand firmly in our beliefs with that unified goal. Personally, I feel it is terrible that the district is in this financial situation its currently in. It has caused a tremendous amount of animosity and division. However, I also believe that change is a good thing. With change comes understanding and knowledge. I like to believe that come next May, the community, administration and BOE will be better educated and the district will be victorious in the long run. Please stick around, I'm sure you have a lot you can contribute. To quote jdavola - Where's the love?
